Muy Monos Ellos II
Ya hace unos dias, Gorka Urien (perdona hermano) me envió el resto de la discografía de los de Estocolmo, un 10'' editado por el grán sello Safety Pins, y un 7'' en Antistructure Productions, todo ello en 2001.
Se dieron a conocer con la canción que da nombre a su 10 pulgadas, tras incluirla en la gran serie de recopilatorios que sacó Safety Pins, "Riot on the Rocks", donde Kike Turmix comenzó a esneñarnos en este pais lo que se cocía por los paises nórdicos.
Una gran amistad unió a la banda con "El Gordo" y Bilbao se convirtió en una de sus plazas favoritas, pasando siempre que podían por allí, tanto para tocar como para disfrutar de su cultura gastronómica y social, ganando en 2001 en su prestigioso "Concurso Pop-Rock Villa de Bilbao".
Banda imprescindible para entender la importancia que tiene en la música actual todo lo acontecido en el norte de Europa, y el porqué, con solo un cd, un 10'' y un single, son tan reconocidos por el resto de bandas europeas.
Saben componer temas pegadizos, con mucha fuerza, cargados de riffs potentes y buenos punteos, y además cuentan con Mat.tias Silvell a la voz, quizás junto a Bif.f Malibú, las dos mejores voces del Rock'n'Roll acelerado del mercado.

January 1999 Jonas joined the band, and a month later they recorded a four track demo at Glenn Duncan Studio. (catalogue, glazewax, classed child, another death...).During the spring 1999 they performed frequently in Stockholm and several towns in Sweden.In May 1999 Very Ape went in to Acetone studio to record three new songs (Back in the EEC, The guide to inner pity, Sizometer).After this recording they hooked up with Rubric Records, NYC and Safetypin Records.In the fall 1999 Jin (guitar) left the band.
April 2000 Very Ape hit USA for gigs at legendary CBGB, Meowmix and a Rubric houseparty, NYC. Arranged by Kenny Sehgal (Rubric Records).Back home in Sweden they began the recording of (As sweet as crimes, Stockholm horse show) at Das Boot Studio in May.The rest of 2000 Very Ape performed frequently.
January 2001 Very Ape recorded two new songs at Red Light Studio for a self financed 7" vinyl (Seafood revision act, Baltic mantra) which was released in May 2001.In the end of May, Very Ape went down to Spain to take part of "city of Bilbao contest" and won the first price of 25 European bands (1100 fortune hunters).The same day they released the "Back in the EEC" 10" vinyl.During the same period, Very Ape recorded two new songs at Acetone Studio (Kosher boogie, Loose this blade) which is material for the new EP.In the fall of 2001, Very Ape decided to take some time off and write new material for a spring 2002 recording.
